Your home is probably not haunted, we promise.

Have you been binge watching horror movies on Netflix, or is your home really haunted by the presence of something unseen?

If your home is making creaky, squeaky, or clanking noises, check to see if your home may be in need of one of these repairs before calling Ghostbusters.

You could also consider having electrical equipment in your home checked to make sure that it’s working correctly. According to some paranormal researchers, high electromagnetic fields in your home might make you feel like you are being watched by an unseen person, and are often found in areas people claim are haunted. This effect is known as a “fear cage” and can sometimes be repaired by updating or moving large appliances.

It also wouldn’t hurt to have your home inspected for mold. Inhaling toxic mold can cause psychological effects on people living there, and researchers are checking to see if that might cause some people to see ghosts.

If you feel you need a professional’s opinion on your home’s spectral status, you can always contact the Wausau Paranormal Research Society, and they will attempt to find any evidence that your home is or is not haunted for free, and keep your information confidential. According to the experts, "I would say nine times out of 10, we do find logical explanations that have to do with the plumbing or the electricity.”
