Still time for some summer reading...
At EXIT we're all about goals- and an important part of that is reevaluating and re-centering. So if you resolved to read more books this summer or for the new year, but then got busy with life and never got the chance- there's still time left to get started!
We asked everyone here at the office about favorite books they would recommend to just about anyone, and here are a few of the responses we got -
"The only books that I normally read are help self books or leadership books. I have a few I really have enjoyed:
What to Say When You Talk to Yourself by Shad Helmstetter, Ph.D. This book is amazing!! It gives a whole new light on how we talk to ourselves and how to improve that for yourself.
21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell - An awesome book on leadership, mentoring and for wanting to take your leadership to a new level.
Failing Forward by John Maxwell - This gives a whole new meaning on how we look at what we call failure. This book was a life changer. This is one you can pick up a few times a year for a reminder."
"I read Who Moved My Cheese? around the time we started EXIT. It's a really good book."
Lana Mohs, Broker/Owner at EXIT
"Proofiness by Charles Seife- I'm not great at math, but this book made me want to study statistics. It explains the different ways dishonest people can use math to make it look like they have evidence of something when they really don't. It's really easy to understand, too!
City of Falling Angels by John Berendt- This book is by the author of Midnight in Garden of Good and Evil- it's not one thing or another- like it has true crime parts about a fire in the Fenice Opera House, and parts about interesting people the author met in Venice, and cool facts about life there. It made me want to travel there someday."
