Excited for new opportunities...

This Wednesday, we had Nick O'Brien from MCDEVCO as a guest speaker for our weekly coffee hour event. We had a great time and the energy was fantastic. 

We talked about the upcoming Wausau YP week. It's an entire week of events focusing on promoting new businesses and young people with talent in the Wausau area. 15 different events over the week, including sunrise workouts, a Riverfront rally, a concert featuring Circle of Heat at Malarkey's, and SOUP III!

SOUP is an opportunity for local community members with business or community development ideas to meet people with practical business experience and gain funding from the community. Admission is $5 and you get a meal of soup and bread and a ballot to vote for your favorite of the top four of the ideas to get a microgrant, including the money from your admission purchase. We're very excited to see all the ideas people have, and community building is a huge part of what we're trying to promote with EXIT. 

All the other events in the YP week are free, so if you have some free time between April 22nd and April 29th, you can check out the Wausau YP Week Facebook page to find one that sounds like fun.
